Free Knitting Pattern Bellis Cancellos Keyhole Scarf

The Bellis Cancellos Keyhole Scarf is a beautifully crafted accessory that combines the luxurious feel of alpaca yarn with a unique stitch pattern to create a piece that is both stylish and functional. This scarf features the Daisy Stitch, a special stitch that involves knitting, yarn over, and knitting again in the next three stitches together, creating a textured and visually appealing pattern. The use of King Cole Baby Alpaca DK yarn in Damson, a rich, deep purple shade, enhances the depth of color and allows the stitch details to shine through.

The scarf is knitted with a tight gauge to ensure that the alpaca yarn, known for its tendency to loosen up, maintains its shape and structure after blocking. This results in a fabric that is soft to the touch, making it ideal for wearing close to the skin, particularly around the neck where comfort is paramount. The keyhole design is not only a fashionable detail but also practical, allowing the wearer to adjust the scarf for a snug fit, which is perfect for varying temperatures.

The finished scarf measures 8 inches wide and 44 inches long after blocking, providing ample coverage and warmth. The pattern is straightforward, starting with a garter stitch border followed by the repeating Daisy Stitch pattern, which adds a significant amount of texture to the scarf. This project is suitable for knitters looking to create a functional yet fashionable winter accessory
