Special Notes
How to knit this sweater: The Lazy Day Pullover is a raglan-style sweater, meaning that it’s knitted in the round from the top down.
Increases are made every other round to make a slanted seam from the neckline to the underarm. There will be enough stitches to cover the bust and shoulders. After several rounds of increases, there will be enough stitches to cover the bust and shoulders.
The arms are then worked in separate pieces, and then sewn together using crochet’s basic stitch.
Needles:
When knitting a sweater without buttons, you can start with double pointed needles. If you don’t have enough stitches for the length of the buttons, then you will need to cast on additional stitches and join.
Stitch Markers:
Stitch markers are helpful for marking segments of the sweater where increases will be made along the yoke, as well as to mark the beginning of the round. You should always use a different stitch marker for the beginning of the round, so you don’t accidentally increase in that spot. If you don’t have enough stitch markers, you can make them from small scraps of yarn.

Knitting Sleeves
Transfer 34 – 36 – 36 – 38 – 40 – 38 – 40 sleeve stitches from the scrap yarn for one side of the body onto circular or double-pointed needles. Knit up 1 stitch in each of the 2 – 2 – 2 – 4 – 4 – 6 – 6 stitches cast on under the arm (place a marker to mark the beginning of the round). Total stitches = 36 – 38 – 38 – 42 – 44 – 44 – 46. Work in the round in garter stitch for 2 inches and then decrease 2 stitches evenly on the next knit round. To decrease evenly by two stitches, divide the number of stitches by 2 and then subtract two from that number. That is the number of stitches to knit before you make each Knit Two Together (K2Tog) decrease. For example, for size XS: Knit 16, K2Tog, Knit 16, K2Tog (36/2 – 2 = 16). Total remaining stitches = 34 – 36 – 36 – 40 – 42 – 42 – 44.
For sizes XS/XL/2X only (other sizes skip to all sizes below): Knit in the round in garter stitch for another 2 inches and then decrease 2 stitches evenly on the next knit round. Total stitches = 32 – 36 – 36 – 40 – 40 – 40 – 44.
All Sizes: Continue to knit in garter stitch until the sleeve measures 13 – 13.5 – 13.5 – 14 – 14 – 14.5 – 14.5 inches from underarm. Next round (begin cuff shaping): *K2Tog, P2Tog; repeat from * to the end of the round. Total stitches = 16 – 18 – 18 – 20 – 20
